Have you used up your FSA dollars or vision benefits?

What are flexible spending and health savings accounts?

Both are great programs that make it possible for you to set aside a smaller amount of money each paycheck that you are then able to spend on health-related expenses. The best part is, this all happens before taxes, saving you even more money! Some employers and insurance companies offer flexible spending accounts (FSA) and others offer health savings accounts (HSA). Yet others offer both. If you aren’t sure which you are a part of or have available to you, check with your employer or insurance company.

What can I purchase with my FSA or HSA?

As long as your FSA or HSA card is affiliated with a major credit card, EyeCandy’s and Moonspecs are happy to accept FSA and HSA payments for all prescription eyewear needs. This means we can help you access even bigger savings on your contact lenses, glasses, and prescription sunglasses. You are even be able to pay for your exam using FSA or HSA dollars.

What’s the best way to place my FSA or HSA order?

Before you pay, you are going to want to double-check the balance on your FSA or HSA account to ensure the funds are available.

We are happy to accept your order online, using your HSA or FSA card, just as you would with any credit or debit card. Make sure you have your up to date prescription and pupillary distance measurement available. You can find our tools for measuring pupillary distance here.

Keep an eye out for emails regarding your order as we can’t process orders without all of your prescription information submitted.

When is the cut-off for placing an order online with FSA dollars?

If, like most, your benefits expire at the end of the year, you will need to place your order by December 31 at 11:59 p.m. ET to take advantage of this year’s benefit. Make sure to check with your carrier for these details.

Can I buy prescription sunglasses with my FSA or HSA?

You sure can! And we encourage it as you’ll be able to take advantage of extra savings by using pre-tax dollars.

Can I split payment between my FSA and a different card?

Absolutely! If your FSA or HSA account is running low, you can apply whatever portion you’d like to via your FSA or HSA card and use another to pay the difference. Just reach out to us and we can help you complete the process.

My prescription has expired. What now?

The great thing about your FSA or HSA account is you can pay for an eye exam without feeling the pain in your pocketbook. Vision exams are a service that can be paid for with these accounts using pre-tax dollars. So, get on out there and get that prescription updated so we can help you see more clearly and look amazing, too!

How do I get a receipt?

We will send an electronic receipt via email with your shipping confirmation. You’ll also receive a paper copy with your shipment. If you happen to lose track of it or need another copy for your provider, send us a message and we can get that to you.

Can I return an order paid for with my FSA or HSA?

Our return policy holds true whether you’re paying with debit, credit, HSA, or FSA. Returns with an HSA account are simple. However, since FSA transactions must be completed within a benefit year, returning an item may mean forfeiting those funds. You’ll want to double-check with your provider.

I still have some questions. Help.

Well, we have answers! Reach out to us via email or our Help feature.

Don't let that money go to waste. Make sure to use up your FSA Dollars before the year ends!
